a human paperweight is what i need someone who holds me down and tells me what to read if i could have it any better i couldn't have it any better instead i'll go to sleep too many thoughts, none of the rest remember when i second guess mistaking thoughts for other ones this is the mess that i've become manifested in these sounds circle my ears and all around to make a blanket metaphor and show me what i'm cursed for every rainy afternoon put on my headphone think balloon moping up to boring things leading without following making a face of resolute quiet mouth and attitude all of this unbecoming of me

the politics of your love [x3] we lay here and waste all of our energy discussing our love that can never happen in its proper form i trust you and you trust me that we won't speak of this promise endanger the play you've arranged and we'll all fall apart devastation like the nuclear bomb but the bomb doesn't fool around the similar damage is brought upon me and my mind bounces off the wall i guess this what they call the politics of your love the politics, the politics [x4]

Square One 05:37
square one has never sounded so promising this has been getting better every day every day [x2] well i'm good at belligerence but this accomplishment well, it's quite a feat i don't know what we were thinking but i'm glad it's over i couldn't bare another awful bout of sacrifice from your widened eyes i'd never go back to that day now i get a kiss from you any time i wanted to holding you i know all i have is true square one has never sounded so promising this has been getting better every single day every day [x2] square one has never sounded so promising this has been getting better every day every...

i'm speaking in colors but thinking in black and white the webs of neurosis are holding me down tonight i'd like to compete and i'd like to say i'm alright but you'll never miss me if i don't go out in spite satisfactory is where i'll always be never get me help from always calming down myself drawing me spaces aggressively knowing that i'll always need someone to fix my one-track mind to back up my answers i'm stating my alibi but nothing remains to keep my word over time i'm constantly moving, my mind's got a hold of me but i'll be fine if you can control me if you can control me [x7] and after all, my thoughts have found their place in line ready to go, but now i feel it rushing up my spine i've wasted all of my time satisfactory is where i'll always be never get me help from always calming down myself drawing me spaces aggressively (knowing, knowing, knowing) knowing that i'll always need some (knowing that i'll always need some) knowing that i'll always need someone to fix my one-track mind

about

I released this record when I was 16 after a year and a half of work. I think it captures the peak of what I was doing in my childhood bedroom studio. It's a pretty action-packed listen, swinging wildly between styles; not quite wearing my influences on my sleeve so much as yelling them at anyone who walks by.

After this record, all of the people, places, and gear that I was accustomed to started changing. So this EP ended up being the last thing that I finished from that time period. I would not resurface with another album until I returned to this bedroom in 2012 to work on Mixed Metaphors.

There is so much going on in this record. I hope you enjoy digging back into it as much as I did!
